From a young age, I knew I loved homes and design. I enjoyed studying home magazines and house plans as a young girl. I loved driving around neighborhoods and looking at houses, always pointing out which were my favorites and what I loved most about them. Home design and making spaces beautiful has always felt like a natural part of my life. The Lord has woven into me a passion for beauty and a gift of displaying that beauty for others to enjoy.
The way I began my career in design was pretty unconventional… I went to nursing school! After having my second child, my husband and I decided that instead of returning to nursing, it was time for me to pursue my lifelong passion for design as a career. With some help from a mentor and encouragement from many friends, I took the plunge and eventually started Laurie Champ Design as a business in 2018. I have absolutely loved getting to work with families as I help them through the design process. I have found so much joy in making my passion a service to others, ultimately pointing to the perfect Creator of beauty and order.
My husband, Caleb, and I live in a historic home in Liberty, Missouri. He works as a teacher and a coach at the local high school. We have two boys, Reid & Cohen, who take the cushions off the couch almost every day for fort building. We love being outside, eating ice cream, serving at our church, and spending time with family & friends.
